Abu Dhabi, 14 Feb (HS): Prime Minister Narendra Modi will dedicate the first Hindu Temple in UAE to the people on Wednesday. Modi is on a two-day tour of the UAE. He will also inaugurate Bharat Mart.

Modi held a meeting with the UAE President Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan on Tuesday and thanked him for making available land for the construction of the BAPS Temple. The temple would strengthen historical relations between the two countries and project the message of brotherhood, cooperation and peace to the world.

Modi will inaugurate Bochanwasi Shri Akshar Purushottam Swaminarayan Sanstha (BAPS) Swaminarayan Temple developed on 27 acres of land. The land was donated by the UAE Government. Ministry of Foreign Affairs said that the agreement was reached upon under the India-Middle East Economic Corridor (IMEC) during the G-20 summit in New Delhi. Besides this, an agreement in Electrical Interconnection and Trade was also reached.

A discussion on buying LNG from UAE was held and an agreement would be signed soon. Both nations also discussed the protection and preservation of manuscripts and museums. On Tuesday Modi addressed the Indian diaspora in UAE at Zayed Sports City Stadium. The programme called ?Ahlan Modi? was attended by about 40,000 people. The Information Ministry had released the original text of Modi?s speech at the event.

Modi said the attendance in the stadium was historic. Everyone has faith in the India-UAE friendship. This is an event which I will remember for my life, he added. I have come here to meet my brethren with the good wishes of 140 crore Indian people and with the fragrance of the soil. ?Bharat is proud of you?.

His Excellency Sheikh Nahyan, who is called the Minister of Tolerance is with us. Modi appreciated his love and friendship for Bharat and Indians in UAE. He also thanked His Excellency Sheik Mohammed bin Zayed for organising this programme. Modi also recalled his first visit to UAE in 2015, which was the first by any Indian Prime Minister in three decades. ?I was new in the field of international diplomacy. The then Crown Prince who is President now had come with his five brothers to receive me at the airport. I cannot forget the warmth in his eyes?. Modi said. The warm welcome was of 140 crore population of Bharat and of every Indian living in UAE, he added.

Today is my seventh visit to UAE in the last ten years. Brother Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayad again welcomed me with the same warmth at the airport. ?I was happy to welcome him in Bharat, when he visited Gujarat?, he said.

?Whenever I meet Sheikh Zayad, he appreciates your contribution to the development of UAE. I am happy that you have carved a place in the hearts of the people of UAE, and strengthening their relations with them. Sheikh Zayed played an important role in strengthening these bonds. His sensitivity was also felt during the Covid-19 pandemic period. When O was planning to bring Indians back, he assured that adequate arrangements for health care and vaccination have been made and India should not worry about their people living in UAE,? Modi said.

Modi informed the crowd that the proposal to construct the temple was made in 2015, to which Sheikh Zayad immediately agreed. He even said that he would make available the land required. The historic temple has been built on the land donated by the UAE Government.
