Bhubaneswar/Delhi, 14 March (H.S): With the possibility of a pre-poll alliance between the BJP and the BJD still lingering, Odisha Chief Minister #NaveenPatnaik has called for a meeting of his party’s senior leaders on Thursday afternoon.
This move comes after the #BJD’s previous meeting on March 6, where they had discussed the proposal of an alliance with the #BJP, but no final decision was made as no response was received from the BJP side. According to sources, during the March 6 meeting, the BJD had resolved to take any step, including forming an alliance, for the betterment of the state.
The proposal for an alliance had come from the BJP and was discussed at #NaveenNiwas, Patnaik’s residence. With both parties considering the option of an alliance, it remains to be seen how this development will impact the upcoming elections in Odisha and if this will bring about a significant shift in the state’s political landscape.
All eyes are now on Thursday’s meeting and what decision will be taken by the BJD leaders regarding their potential alliance with the BJP.
