New Delhi, 12 Nov (HS): Prime Minister Narendra Modi is visiting Lepcha in Himachal Pradesh to celebrate Diwali with security personnel. Every year, Prime Minister Modi pays a visit to a security facility to celebrate the Festival of Lights with soldiers. Today, the Prime Minister posted photos from his visit to his X account. He’s clothed in military fatigues and talking with security personnel in the images. “Away from their families, these guardians of our nation illuminate our lives with their dedication,” he continued in a separate tweet. He stated that our soldiers’ courage is unshakeable. “Despite being stationed in the most difficult terrains, far from their loved ones, their sacrifice and dedication keep us safe and secure. India will be eternally grateful to these heroes, who are the epitome of bravery and resilience,” he added.
The Prime Minister shared images of himself handing sweets to security men. Prime Minister Modi told a gathering of troops in Lepcha that he had spent every Diwali with border security personnel. “My festival is right where you are,” he explained. “Even when I not a PM or a CM, I would visit soldiers at some or the other border post every Diwali,” he went on to say. According to the Prime Minister, a prayer is made for the military who secure our borders at every Puja across the country. He stated that one diya is lighted in each residence for the military. He compared security installations where troops are stationed to temples.
Prime Minister Modi has spent Diwali with security soldiers posted on the borders since taking office. He connects with the men in uniform during these trips. Last year, he was spotted clapping on security staff as they performed during a musical event commemorating his visit.
On Diwali in 2014, the Prime Minister visited the Siachen glacier, the year the BJP came to power. He was at the border in Punjab in 2015. The next year, he was in Himachal Pradesh, near the Chinese border. He was in the Gurez area of Kashmir in 2017. The Prime Minister was at Harsil, Uttarakhand, for Diwali 2018. The next year, he was in Rajouri, close to the Line of Control in Jammu and Kashmir. The Prime Minister went to Longewala in Jaisalmer for Diwali in 2020, and Nowshera in Jammu and Kashmir the next year. He spent Diwali in Kargil last year.
