Congress Party Gears Up: Central Election Committee to Strategize at AICC Headquarters with President Kharge

Delhi, March 11: The Congress party is set to hold its second #CentralElectionCommittee (CEC) meeting at the #AllIndiaCongressCommittee (AICC) headquarters in Delhi on Monday evening, party insiders reveal.

Under the leadership of national president Mallikarjun Kharge, the gathering will also feature Congress Parliamentary Party Chairperson Sonia Gandhi and party MP Rahul Gandhi. The committee plans to deliberate on the distribution of Lok Sabha seats across several states including Karnataka, Rajasthan, Chhattisgarh, Haryana, Tamil Nadu, Delhi, and Madhya Pradesh.

This strategic meeting follows the release of the first list of candidates for 39 Lok Sabha constituencies on March 8, covering states such as Chhattisgarh, Karnataka, Kerala, Lakshwadeep, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Sikkim, Telangana, and Tripura, after their initial meeting on March 7. KC Venugopal highlighted that the list comprises 15 General category candidates, with the remaining 24 representing SC, ST, OBC, and minority groups. Meanwhile, the BJP has put forward its first set of 195 candidates for the imminent Lok Sabha polls, expected to take place in April-May.
