India progressing at double speed: Rajnath

Lucknow, 10 March (HS): Prime Minister Narendra Modi virtually inaugurated the newly constructed Terminal-3 of Lucknow’s Chaudhary Charan Singh International Airport during a ceremony organized in Azamgarh on Sunday. While addressing the inauguration ceremony, Defense Minister Rajnath Singh, who was present in Lucknow, said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Modi, Lucknow as well as the entire India is progressing at quadruple speed day and night.

Rajnath Singh said that while in 2014 there were only 74 airports in this country, today their number has more than doubled to 149. ?Earlier it was believed that airport or air travel is only for the upper class, the common man cannot go there. Air travel served as a bridge between the rich and the poor. We have bridged that gap through regional connectivity Udaan. You can see the same thing in internet connectivity also. Earlier only the rich had access to the internet. We could not even imagine that a poor person would have internet. It is the result of the work done by our government that today everyone, rich and poor, has an internet connection. Earlier, we connected the poor who did not go to the bank to the banking system through Jan Dhan Yojana. We moved from class banking to mass banking. We have brought the poor of this country at par with the upper class families of this country,? he opined.

The Defense Minister said that the specialty of our government under the visionary leadership of Prime Minister Modi has been that we have converted difficulties into opportunities. ?There was a system already running in the country, work has been done to change it. It is the result of the public service being done by the double engine government under the guidance of the Prime Minister that the entire country is continuously developing under the leadership of Modi,? he added. Rajnath Singh said that he is fortunate that he is the MP of that Lucknow. ?Atal Bihari Vajpayee used to represent it. We are getting the opportunity to take the Ganga of development that Bhagirath had created in this region while he was the MP of Lucknow,? he stressed. Singh said, ?I am a public representative of Lucknow, hence I am happy to see the development of this airport, but even more satisfying as a citizen is that my Lucknow and my India continue to develop under the leadership of Prime Minister Modi.?

On this occasion, Deputy Chief Minister Brajesh Pathak, Assembly Speaker Satish Mahana, Lucknow Mayor Sushma Kharkwal, former minister Dr. Mahendra Singh, Sarojininagar MLA Rajeshwar Singh and Metropolitan BJP President Anand Dwivedi were prominently present.
