What Happened ? PM Modi’s Visit To Rajghat : Marking Third Term Commencement
New Delhi, 9 June (HS): On Sunday Prime Minister, Narendra Modi paid respect to Mahatma Gandhi at Rajghat, the memorial to the Father of the Nation, to mark the start of his swearing-in ceremony. Modi is preparing to begin his third term as prime minister. At a ceremony on Sunday evening in Rashtrapati Bhawan, President Droupadi Murmu will administer the oath of office to him and his Council of Ministers. Several partners, including the TDP, JD(U), and Shiv Sena, are expected to participate in the coalition administration.
Modi visited Rajghat and paid respects to Atal Bihari Vajpayee, a BJP leader and former prime minister, at his monument ‘Sadaiv Atal’. Vajpayee was the first BJP prime minister and, together with Lal Krishna Advani, is credited with propelling the party to prominence in national politics. As the prime minister-designate paid visits to these landmarks, a large crowd of supporters gathered. Modi also paid his respects at the National War Memorial, which honors troops who have given the ultimate sacrifice for the country.
