Delhi, 8 March (H.S): On Friday, the Rashtrapati Bhavan announced that President Droupadi Murmu will present the Standard and Colours to four Indian Air Force units.
It will be a historic moment as it will be the first time in the history of the IAF that four units will be awarded the prestigious President’s Standard and Colours together. The ceremony will take place at the Air Force Station Hindon in Uttar Pradesh, where President Murmu will present the President’s Standard to the 45 Squadron and the 221 Squadron, and the President’s Colours to the 11 Base Repair Depot and the 509 Signal Unit.
This is a significant event as the President’s Standard and Colours is considered to be the highest military honour for any armed forces unit. These four units have been selected for their exceptional contributions to the IAF’s history, making them well-deserving recipients of this coveted award.
The ceremony is sure to be a proud moment for both President Murmu and the Indian Air Force as they continue to uphold their commitment to serving and protecting our nation.
