Ramgarh, 5 February (H.S): Congress leader Rahul Gandhi’s ‘Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra’ resumed from Jharkhand’s Ramgarh district on Monday, marking the fourth day of his procession in the state. After a night halt at Sidhu-Kanhu ground, the yatra continued from Mahatma Gandhi Chowk to Chutupalu Valley where Gandhi paid tribute to freedom fighters Saheed Sheikh Bhikhari and Tikait Umaro Singh.
The state Congress spokesperson Rajiv Ranjan stated that after reaching Irba in Ranchi district, Gandhi would interact with weavers at Indira Gandhi Handloom Process ground before addressing a public rally at Ranchi’s Shaheed Ground. On Sunday, Gandhi had expressed his party’s stand for the rights of tribals over ‘Jal-Jungle-Jamin’ (water, forest and land resources).
The yatra is taking place in Jharkhand while the JMM-led alliance government seeks a trust vote in the assembly. The Congress, being a part of the alliance, supports this movement. On Monday, Gandhi is scheduled to halt in Khunti district and cover 804 km in eight days across 13 districts of the state in two phases. The ‘Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra’, which began in Manipur on January 14, aims to cover 6,713 km in 67 days through 110 districts in 15 states before concluding in Mumbai on March 20.
This yatra serves as a platform for Gandhi to connect with people and understand their issues and concerns while also highlighting the Congress party’s vision for social justice and development in India.
