Ranchi, 5 February (H.S): The MLAs of Jharkhand’s JMM-led alliance have expressed confidence in winning the trust vote, which is scheduled for Monday.
This comes after their return to Ranchi from Hyderabad on Sunday evening. The legislators, who arrived in a chartered flight at Birsa Munda Airport, were then taken to the Circuit House in two buses. Amidst their arrival, Minister Alamgir Alam emphasized the unity among their MLAs, stating that they have the support of 48 to 50 legislators.
This sentiment was echoed by JMM lawmaker Mithilesh Thakur, who asserted that the coalition would successfully navigate the trust vote. He also claimed that many BJP legislators are in support of the alliance in the state. However, Chief Whip of BJP, Biranchi Narain, offered a contrary view, stating that the coalition will face defeat in the upcoming vote of confidence.
He alleged that the MLAs in Hyderabad were kept under strict surveillance, indicating their lack of confidence in winning. Despite these differing opinions, all eyes are on Monday’s trust vote as it will determine the fate of Jharkhand’s government.
