Budget Update: Economy shown positive changes in last 10 yrs: FM

New Delhi, 01 February (HS): union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman on Thursday presented the interim union Budget for the financial year 2024-25 in the Lok Sabha, the lower house of Parliament. Nirmala Sitharaman is presenting her sixth and final budget of the second term of the Modi government.

While presenting the union Interim Budget 2024-25, Sitharaman said that the Indian economy has seen profound positive transformation in the last 10 years, the people of India are looking towards the future with hope. The Finance Minister said, when “our government assumed power in 2014 under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the country was facing huge challenges. The government has successfully overcome those challenges.”

The Finance Minister in her interim union Budget 2024 speech said that the government has provided accountable, people-centric and trust-based governance with a citizen first and minimum government maximum governance approach. Presenting the interim budget in Parliament, Sitharaman said that in the last 10 years, Rs 30 crore Mudra Yojana loans were given to women entrepreneurs. Under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, women have got 70 percent houses in rural areas.

Sitharaman said that the government has provided accountable, people centric and trust based governance with citizen first and minimum government maximum governance approach. We need to focus on the poor, women, youth and Annadata, their needs and aspirations are our are the highest priorities.
