Mathura, 12 Nov (HS): Officials claimed a man was shot dead in a police encounter here after being suspected of murder and looting and carrying a Rs 50,000 reward. “On Saturday night, one Farookh, a resident of Matiya Darwaza, was injured in a police encounter near a hotel under the Highway police station,” Mathura SSP Sailesh Kumar Pandey said. He was transported to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
According to authorities, Farookh and a man named Mohsin assaulted businessmen Krishna Kumar Agarwal and his wife Kalpana Agarwal on November 4 and looted their home. The woman died as a result of her injuries, but the husband is battling for his life in a hospital.
On November 10, the police detained Mohsin and retrieved some cash from his hands. We recovered a bag containing Rs 21.8 lakh, jewelleries and a pistol from Farookh,” stated the police official.
