Islamabad, 21 Feb (HS): The coalition between Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz and the Pakistan People?s Party was worked out late in the evening of Tuesday. PML-N leader Shehbaz Sharif will be the new Prime Minister and PPP leader Asif Ali Zardari will be the candidate for the President?s post. Zardari?s name will be announced jointly by both parties.
Pakistan?s Geo News Channel reported that both PML-N and PPP once again agreed to form a coalition government. The coalition has been worked out in the ?national spirit?. PML-N with 79 seats and PPP with 54 have the required strength to form the government.
Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf (PTI) supported independent candidates bagged 92 seats and announced that it will prefer to be in the opposition.
The decision on forming the ministry will be taken at a later stage, Shehbaz said.
