Global Investors Summit – European MNCs to pump in 17K cr in UP

Global Investors Summit – Lucknow, 10 January (HS): Leading mulit-nantional companies from Europe will pump in Rs17,000 crore in Uttar Pradesh. Six multinational companies like Samson, Motherson and Cerneca International Group have completed the process of signing MoUs with the state government in this regard.

Meanwhile, entrepreneurs from Tamil Nadu will also participate in Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath’s efforts to make Uttar Pradesh the growth engine of New India. During the Business to Government (B2G) meeting and roadshow with state ministers at ITC Grand Chola, Chennai, industrialists from South India presented solid waste management, petrochemical, defence, transport, higher education, hotels and distilleries, solar in UP and expressed desire to invest in energy, health care, sugar mill and financial services.

With the investment of these companies, employment opportunities will be generated for 21,000 in UP. Renowned companies from Europe to Germany will invest 17,000 crore in Uttar Pradesh. Samson, Motherson and Samson, a multinational company of Frankfurt city, will invest 2,000 crore in the manufacturing sector in the state.

Motherson Company of the same city will invest 500 crore in automobile ancillary. Agristo Massa and Gemini Corporation of the City of Brussels, Belgium have made investment proposals.

Sweden’s Stockholm’s Cerneca International Group and Bosan Energy will invest 10,000 crore in the state.`

These companies have agreed on the investment proposal along with the team of ministers of the state which had gone to Europe to woo investors for the proposed Global Investors Summit (GIS-23) scheduled in Lucknow.

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath had sent teams to Germany, Belgium and Sweden to invite investors to the Global Investors Summit (GIS-23) to be held in February. It included Deputy Chief Minister Brajesh Pathak and PWD Minister Jitin Prasad. The team held 20 meetings with representatives of industrial houses and the government.

In the roadshow, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath invited entrepreneurs from Tamil Nadu to invest in the state through a video message. At the same time, Cabinet Minister Suresh Khanna assured the entrepreneurs that their every facility would be taken care of. In a meeting with Ministers Nitin Agarwal, Aseem Arun and Narendra Kashyap, entrepreneurs from South India said that this is the first time that any government in Uttar Pradesh has taken the initiative of making Tamil Nadu businessmen partners in development.

Entrepreneurs from Tamil Nadu also want to see Uttar Pradesh act as the growth engine of New India. Investors have termed the recent Kashi Tamil Sangamam in Varanasi as a positive effort towards increasing the intensity from Tamil Nadu. On this occasion, Principal Secretary Anil Kumar Sagar and Excise Commissioner Senthil Pandian took interest in the best investment opportunities in UP.

GSK Velu, Chairman, FICCI Tamil Nadu State Council and CMD, Trivitran Group, Keerthi Karamchandani, Head, Public Policy, HCL Group, Anita Madala, Director, Epiran Healthcare and Amarnath, Paterson Energy also shared their experiences and encouraged other entrepreneurs to invest .
