Canberra, 10 Oct (HS): Foreign Minister Dr. S Jaishankar met his Australian counter, Penny Wong, during the former’s visit to Australia as both laid emphasis on the protection of characteristics of every nation.
Addressing the media, both ministers stated that a discussion on strengthening diplomatic relations took place. Both nations believe in liberal democracy and cordial international relationships. The bilateral talks also included the development of international navigation and security, the functioning of Quad nations and G-20. They also discussed issues related to the Russia-Ukraine war.

Jaishankar also visited important places in Australia and thanked Australia for participation in the 76th year of Indian independence. Issues pertaining to trade, economy, education, security, clean energy etc were also discussed.
