Raipur, November 23 (HS): Since the announcement of the election programme, a total of items worth Rs 76.9 crore including cash, liquor, drugs etc. have been seized in Chhattisgarh. Election program in the state on October 9. was announced and the electoral code of conduct came into force
According to the information received from the State Election Office, during the investigation in the assembly elections, more gold, silver and precious metals have been seized at different check posts of the state. A total of items worth Rs 76.9 crore including cash, liquor, drugs etc. were seized in Chhattisgarh.
This includes cash worth Rs 20.27 crore, precious metals worth Rs 22.76 crore and liquor worth Rs 2.16 crore. According to election officials, drugs worth Rs 4.55 crore have also been recovered in Chhattisgarh during the election code of conduct.
It is noteworthy that the code of conduct in the state will remain in force till the counting of votes. Meanwhile, investigation is going on at the intersections.
