However, they also showed their willingness to explore opportunities of government formation and will decide on further action after meeting with other INDIA bloc partners on Wednesday. The Congress and other opposition parties are also trying to woo back former partners like JDU and TDP into their fold, with some leaders already reaching out to them. In a joint press conference with party leaders Sonia Gandhi and Mallikarjun Kharge, Rahul Gandhi stated that their alliance will decide on their future course of action tomorrow. When asked about approaching parties like JDU and TDP for government formation, Rahul Gandhi stated that they will discuss it with their allies first and act accordingly. With the BJP falling short of the magic figure of 272 but still securing a majority through its alliance, the INDIA bloc has put up a strong fight with the Congress winning close to double of its 2019 tally. Kharge also mentioned that without discussing with alliance partners and potential new partners, it is premature to say anything about government formation strategies.
