What Is The Situation ? : Shillong and Tura Seats Decided: Meghalaya Elections Results Declared

Shillong, 04 June (HS): Election Commission has declared the results of both the Lok Sabha seats of Meghalaya. Voice of the People Party (VOTPP) has won Shillong seat. On the other hand, Congress party has won Tura seat after a long time. VOTPP candidate Dr. Ricky Andrew J. Singkon has won from Shillong seat by getting 571078 votes. He defeated Congress candidate Vincent H. Pala by a margin of 371910 votes. Vincent H. Pala got total 199168 votes whereas, National People’s Party candidate Dr. Majel Ampareen Lyngdoh was in third place, with a total 186488 votes.

Vote Counts and Results for Tura and Shillong Seats

Similarly, United Democratic Party candidate Robert June Kharjahri got 44563, Independent candidate Prof. Lakhan KMA has got 18582 votes, independent candidate Peter Shalam has got 7024 votes. Whereas, a total of 11008 votes have been cast on NOTA. Similarly, Congress candidate Saleng A Sangma has won the Tura seat by getting 383919 votes. Saleng A Sangma has defeated NPP candidate Agatha K Sangma by 155241 votes. Agatha K Sangma has got a total of 228678 votes. Whereas, TMC candidate Zenith M Sangma has got 48709 votes, independent candidate Laben CH Marak has got 6910 votes. Whereas, 5840 votes have been cast on NOTA.
