Surat, 30 November (HS): The bodies of seven workers missing after the massive fire that broke out in the early hours of Wednesday at Ather Industries Limited, a chemical company of Sachin GIDC, were recovered on Thursday morning.
The bodies have been taken to the civil hospital for a post-mortem. Twenty seven workers were burned in the accident. Of these, eight workers have suffered 70-100 percent burn injuries as all of them are fighting for their lives in the hospital.
According to Surat Police Deputy Commissioner Rajesh Parmar, seven employees working for the company were not traceable. His family members have been informed. After the fire was extinguished, the bodies of seven employees were recovered. The names of the deceased employees include Divyesh Kumar Patel, Santosh Vishwakarma, Sanat Kumar Mishra, Dharmendra Kumar, Ganesh Prasad, Sunil Kumar, and Abhishek Singh.
According to the information, a storage tanker burst into fire at 2 o’clock on Wednesday night at the chemical company Ather Industries located in Sachin GIDC. Employees work in three shifts and one general shift in the company. At the time of the accident, 150 employees and workers were working. There was a stampede after the fire. As soon as information about the incident was received, fire brigade personnel arrived with vehicles.
