Noida, 28 Nov (HS): Police said on Tuesday that a 55-year-old man was shot dead at a wedding in Noida by his son-in-law’s father-in-law. They said an altercation occurred between them before to the shootout on Monday night. According to police, Ashok Yadav, a resident of Hoshiarpur in Noida Sector 51, went to a wedding at Gaur Mulberry Farmhouse in Bisrakh, where he was shot dead by Shekhar Yadav from Ghaziabad.
According to the police, Ashok Yadav’s son was married to Shekhar Yadav’s daughter, but the couple had a rocky marriage, which caused the connection between the two families to deteriorate. “On Monday night, local police received a report of a shootout after an altercation at a wedding event. The victim’s family members rushed him to a nearby private Yatharth Hospital, but doctors declared him dead,” Deputy Commissioner of Police (Central Noida) Suniti said.
“Based on the information gathered so far, Ashok Yadav and Shekhar Yadav were related, with their children married to each other. However, the married couple was going through a divorce, which caused conflict between the two sides,” she explained. According to the police, Shekhar Yadav, who is originally from the Hapur area, used a legal pistol in the attack. Suniti stated that a FIR has been filed against Shekhar Yadav and his family members on the complaint of the victim’s relatives.
“I’ve formed four police teams to look into the case. Police teams are conducting raids at the accused’s likely residences and hideouts to ensure their arrest,” the DCP stated. Police are also questioning attendees at the wedding, including waiters and personnel, about what happened before the incident, she added.
