Maldah, December 22 (HS): A plastic merchant was shot in broad daylight at Sujapur in Maldah district on Friday.
According to police sources, the name of the injured businessman is Safikul Ismam, a resident of Sujapur. He owns a plastic factory in Sujapur. Safikul is currently admitted to a private hospital. Till the time of filing the news, it was not clear who fired the bullet.
The police have started investigating the matter. Primarily it is believed that the businessman was shot due to personal enmity. Till the time of filing of the news, no one had been arrested in connection with the case.
