Prayagraj, 15 Dec (HS): After his mother refused to pay him Rs 5,000 as pocket money for some expenses, a 20-year-old man was arrested for murdering her and concealing her corpse inside a trolley bag inside a rented residence in Haryana’s Hisar.
The man was apprehended by Uttar Pradesh police in Prayagraj in the wee hours while attempting to immerse her body in the Sangam River, according to the plot. Himanshu Kumar, a native of Gopalgunj in Bihar, has been identified as the culprit. After noting Himanshu’s suspicious behaviour, the officers searched his suitcase and detained him.
“A team of Daraganj, who was on night patrolling duty, spotted a youth in the wee hours, carrying a trolley bag between Akshayvat and Sangam zone in Prayagraj,” Deepak Bhuker, the district commissioner for the city, said.
?During the search, authorities discovered the corpse of a woman bundled with some garments inside the trolley bag and put him into prison for questioning,? according to DCP.
The man admitted to strangling his mother, Pratibha Devi (42), at their leased home in Hisar’s Arya Nagar on December 13 before travelling all the way to immerse the corpse in Sangam.
Himanshu is an undergraduate student, while the deceased worked in a cotton factory in Hisar to earn livelihood and sustain family expenses.
