Saharanpur, 11 Dec (HS): Police claimed on Monday that a young girl was shot dead by her brother after she refused to stop texting on her phone. Muskan (17) was reportedly using her cell phone in Shekhpura Kadeem village on Sunday night when her brother Aditya instructed her to stop texting, according to ASP (City) Abhimaniyu Manglik. Muskan refused to listen to her brother, and as the debate heated up, Aditya reportedly shot her with a country-made pistol, according to the ASP.
He said that their mother, Babita, was in another part of the house when the incident occurred. Locals transported the girl to the hospital, where she was pronounced dead, he said.
A manhunt has been initiated by police to apprehend the fugitive accused, who is in his early twenties. According to locals, Aditya was against his sister’s connection with a youth from another community in the same area. The police are looking into the situation from every angle conceivable, according to the ASP.
