New Delhi, 11 November (HS): The Leap Ahead initiative, a joint initiative of Software Technology Parks of India (STPI) and Indus Entrepreneur (TIE) Delhi-NCR, will be taken to 30 cities. Its objective is to promote tech startups in the country.
STPI Director General Arvind Kumar has said that this initiative focuses on two things. They are mentorship and co-investment. Apart from Delhi, Leap Ahead Startup Summits will also be organised in Bhubaneswar, Vijayawada, and Chandigarh in the future. TiE Delhi-NCR President Alok Mittal said that we will mentor 75 companies in three months and arrange funds for about 15 of them. This initiative will be taken to more than 30 cities.
The Leap Ahead initiative was launched at the Leap Ahead Summit held in the capital by S., Secretary, Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology. Krishnan did it yesterday. S. Krishnan believes that ‘the Leap Ahead initiative is extremely timely in highlighting the opportunities and potential available to entrepreneurs in India. During the summit, the winners of the Build for Bharat IoT Challenge were honoured, and 20 startups were awarded a total funding of Rs 6.1 crore from NextGen Technology Fund-1.
