Washington, 04 May (HS): Indian companies have invested more than $40 billion in the United States and created about 425,000 jobs there.
A survey titled Indian Roots, American soil conducted by the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) says that 163 Indian companies invested in the US. The survey was released by India’s ambassador to the US Taranjit Singh Sandhu in the presence of the US Ambassador-designate to India Eric Garcetti.
Garcetti also revealed that Indian companies spent about $185 million on Corporate Social Responsibility in the US, and are financing US-based research and development projects worth $1 billion. ?Indian companies in the US bring strength, resilience, and competitiveness to the US. They create jobs, support the local communities, and build capacity and technical know-how. They make virtuous cycles of prosperity Sandhu said.
A large number of representatives of Indian companies are attending the select USA Summit. Sandhu was addressing them during the summit. ?India has always believed that success is to be shared, and sharing is success, Sandhu added while appreciating the approach of Indian companies towards local communities.
The top ten beneficiary states are Texas (20,906 jobs), New York (19162 jobs), New Jersey (17,713 jobs), Washington (14525 jobs), Florida (14,418 jobs), California (14334 jobs), Georgia (13945 jobs), Ohio (12,188 jobs), Montana (9,603 jobs), and Illinois (8,454 jobs).
