Ajmer Hotel Gas Cylinder Explosion: Fire Contained, No Casualties
Ajmer, 26 May (HS): A gas cylinder exploded in a hotel in front of the railway station leading to chaos. Three nearby shops were also hit. On receiving the information, Clock Tower police station and fire brigade reached the spot. The fire brigade brought the fire under control after about an hour of effort.
During this period, traffic on both sides was also stopped. It was fortunate that there was no loss of life. Food was being cooked at Kake Di Hatti, a dhaba in front of the railway station, and suddenly the cylinder exploded. This created chaos. The hotel owner and staff came out. People also came out of nearby shops. Meanwhile, traffic on the road also stopped and a crowd of people gathered. Within no time, the fire took a huge form and engulfed three nearby shops. Clock Tower police station is nearby and the police immediately reached the spot. The police informed the fire brigade. The fire was brought under control after about one and a half hour of effort. During this time the police diverted the traffic on both sides. Police and firemen heaved a sigh of relief as there was no loss of life on the spot.
Officials Inspect Scene After Gas Cylinder Blast, Ensure Safety Measures
Clock Tower police station in-charge Dinesh Chaudhary said that a cylinder caught fire in a hotel and two or three more shops were affected. There has been no loss of life. Fire Officer Gaurav Tanwar said that one cylinder had burst and three cylinders were taken out safely. It has been revealed that the cylinder that exploded was a LPG cylinder, which was being used commercially. The three cylinders taken out were also domestic gas cylinders. After the incident, Assembly Speaker Vasudev Devnani reached the spot and inspected the spot. During this, he also talked to businessmen and nearby people. Later instructions were also given to the officials. During this, BJP city district president Ramesh Soni and other people were also present.
