Goa: A political controversy has erupted in Goa after Congress leader Girish Chodankar raised questions over a private executive jet reportedly stationed at Manohar International Airport (Mopa). Chodankar has sought clarity over the aircraft’s ownership and questioned whether it has any connection with Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant. The social media platform X handles of Chodankar and INC Goa have uploaded images and videos questioning the Goa CM about this Jet!

According to Chodankar, the aircraft is reportedly valued at around ₹130 crore. He has questioned who owns the jet, who operates it and whether the Chief Minister or people associated with him have access to the aircraft. The Congress leader has demanded greater transparency over the matter, arguing that the identity of the aircraft’s owner and details of its operation should be placed in the public domain if there is any connection with political office-holders.
However, the allegations raised by Chodankar have not been independently established. The ownership and financial arrangements surrounding the aircraft therefore remain key questions. The controversy comes amid a broader political confrontation between the Congress and the BJP-led Goa government. Chodankar has been vocal in raising issues related to governance, transparency and alleged irregularities, while the ruling establishment has faced repeated criticism from the opposition over several policy and administrative matters.
The private-jet controversy has now added another dimension to the political battle. With Goa’s political landscape already heating up ahead of the approaching 2027 Assembly elections, the private-jet issue could become another major point of confrontation between the ruling BJP and the Congress. The controversy is likely to intensify if Chodankar produces further documentary evidence or if the government responds officially to the allegations.
