Varanasi, 29 February (HS): Namami Gange on Thursday raised the flame of cleanliness at Manikarnika Tirtha and Chakra Pushkarni Kund.
According to the Kashi section, a wish was made for the protection of the ponds, the divine source of underground water that existed before the descent of the Ganges. The workers performed aarti of Maharishi Yogi of Chakra Pushkarni Kund, who provides the benefits of the virtues of the four Dhams, along with the Vedapathi Batukas of Vidyashram.
After this, the clothes and other pollution causing materials of the devotees immersed in the banks of Ganga and Chakra Pushkarni Kund were taken out and discarded to the dustbin. They also lent a hand in cleaning the soil which is going on in coordination with Kashi Teerth Purohit Sabha and the head Teerth Purohit of the Kund, Pt. Manish Nandan Mishra. With the aim of saving the rich heritage we have got in the form of water structures, the message of ‘Sabka Saath Ho – Ganga is clean’ was given.
Program coordinator Rajesh Shukla said that the glory of Manikarnika Tirtha and Chakra Pushkarni Kund is better than all the pilgrimages on earth. This area mentioned in Kashi Khandonkta is also the center point of religious faith and tourism. Therefore cleanliness is very important.
He said that the people who came for cremation are also appealed to maintain the cleanliness of the shrine. According to Kashi Khand, this pond existed before the descent of Ganga. Lord Vishnu had performed penance here for thousands of years to please Bholenath. He had established the pond with his Sudarshan Chakra for the bathing of Bholenath and Goddess Parvati. Sisant Kesari Swain, in-charge of Maharishi Yogi Vidyashram, Sunil Srivastava also participated in the program.
