New Delhi, 21 February (HS): The Congress party has supported the protesting farmer organisations on issues including minimum support price (MSP).
Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge, while talking to the media on Wednesday, said that he is going to include the legal guarantee of MSP on all crops in his manifesto. He said that if the government cannot give a legal guarantee on all crops, then it should at least give a guarantee of MSP on important crops. “What the farmers are demanding is their right. The central government should listen to the farmers.”
It is noteworthy that earlier Congress leader Rahul Gandhi had said in a meeting that if his government is formed, he will give a legal guarantee of MSP on all crops to the farmers.
