Modi Takes On Congress Over Ram Temple in Rewari Speech

Delhi, 16 February (H.S): Prime Minister Narendra Modi, in his address at a public gathering in Rewari, Haryana on Friday, slammed the Congress for its changing stance on the construction of the Ram temple in Ayodhya. He pointed out that those who once called Lord Ram imaginary and opposed the construction of a temple are now chanting ?Jai Siya Ram?.He also highlighted the progress and development of India in the global arena, giving credit to the blessings of the people. Referring to his recent visits to the UAE and Qatar, he emphasized that the respect India receives today is not just because of him, but every Indian.

Modi also targeted the Congress for their track record of prioritizing one family’s interests over the country’s, and for their involvement in major scams. He reminded the audience that his first event as the BJP’s prime ministerial candidate was in Rewari in 2013, where he had given guarantees to fulfill the wishes of the people, including the construction of a grand Ram temple in Ayodhya. With the consecration of the Ram Lalla idol at the temple last month, Modi asserted that his promise has been fulfilled.

He also criticized top Congress leaders for staying away from the ceremony and making it a ?political project? instead of acknowledging it as a personal matter of faith. Modi concluded by stating that people are now recognizing his efforts and are saying that he has come to Rewari again after seven years with even bigger achievements.
