Ranchi, 9 February (H.S): Jharkhand Chief Minister Champai Soren is set to distribute acceptance letters and first installments to 24,827 families from the Kolhan region as part of the first phase of the Abua Awas Yojana.
The state government has identified over 2.9 lakh families who applied for the scheme in the region and will be providing assistance to a total of 1,05,810 families from East Singhbhum district, 1,03,319 families from West Singhbhum, and 83,495 families from Seraikela-Kharswan district. In the first phase, the CM will distribute acceptance letters and first installments of Rs 30,000 each to 24,827 families. The scheme, launched by former CM Hemant Soren on November 15, aims to provide houses for the homeless and those who were not able to benefit from the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana.
Under this scheme, beneficiaries will receive a total of Rs 2 lakh in four installments to build a three-room house in stages. The construction is expected to be completed within 12 months. Additionally, the scheme includes provisions for assistance in building toilets through the Swachh Bharat Mission Rural or other sources.
