They suggest joining BJP to get absolve of all charges, but I declined: Kejriwal

New Delhi, 4 Feb (HS): Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal lashed out at the BJP over calls to join the party, after a spat over charges by an Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader that the BJP has been attempting to poach its MLAs.

The Crime Branch of the Delhi Police has served notice on Kejriwal and Delhi Minister Atishi, requesting them to provide details on the charges, citing remarks that they were “privy to certain information regarding the commission of a cognisable offence”. However, at a speech at the opening of a school building in Delhi’s Rohini, Kejriwal expressed his opposition to the BJP’s attack. “They are free to do what they want. Nothing will actually happen. I am not going to surrender to them. They offer, “Come to BJP; we won’t bother you.”

No, I will not be joining them. And what crime have we committed that they should forgive us?” Kejriwal remarked. “We’ve been striving to improve schools, hospitals, clinics, and roads. “What’s wrong with that?” he asked.

On Saturday, Crime Branch officers sent Kejriwal with a letter asking him to respond within three days in an investigation into his accusations that the BJP attempted to lure seven AAP MLAs. Atishi’s notice was served today.
