New Delhi, 4 Feb (HS): Prime Minister Narendra Modi asserted on Sunday that people in power after Independence failed to comprehend the value of houses of worship and created a tendency of being embarrassed of their own culture for political purposes.
Addressing a large crowd in Guwahati after launching projects worth ?11,600 crore, Modi stated that no country can grow by discarding its history. However, the situation has evolved in the previous ten years, he claims. Modi stated that the initiatives he revealed will improve connectivity not only in the Northeast, but throughout South Asia.
He stated that peace had returned to Assam in the last ten years, with over 7,000 individuals laying down their guns and rejoining society. “A record number of tourists have visited the region in the past decade,” an official said.
