Ranchi, 2 February (H.S): Congress leader Rahul Gandhi’s Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra will make its way into Jharkhand on Friday afternoon, according to a party leader.
The yatra is expected to enter the state through Pakur district from West Bengal and a flag hand-over ceremony will take place at Nasipur More in Pakur. Gandhi will also address a public meeting there, as the yatra coincides with the swearing-in of JMM legislative party leader Champai Soren as the new chief minister of Jharkhand.
The yatra, which is aimed at ensuring justice for the people of Jharkhand and the country, will cover 804 km in 13 districts over eight days. Congress spokesperson Rakesh Sinha stated that Gandhi will stay in Jharkhand for six days in the first phase of the yatra and two days in the second phase, which is yet to be decided.
The Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra, which started on January 14 in Manipur, seeks to unite people across India and address issues of social and economic inequality.
