Delhi, 29 January (H.S) : The Congress did not hold back in criticizing Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar?s recent actions, taking a swipe at him with yet another chameleon barb and ?aaya Kumar, gaya Kumar? jibe. On Sunday, Kumar resigned as the Chief Minister of Bihar, citing issues within the Mahagathbandhan or grand alliance and formed a new government with the BJP, a party he had previously left less than 18 months ago.
Congress general secretary Jairam Ramesh used a Hindi proverb to mock Kumar, saying that even a chameleon had to search for a new color as these ?warriors? change their colors so frequently. Ramesh also referred to the expression ?aaya Ram gaya Ram?, which was commonly used in politics in the 1990s to describe the frequent party-switching by politicians.
He accused Kumar of repeatedly resigning and changing his political colors. Ramesh also criticized Kumar for betraying the opposition after participating in three meetings of the INDIA bloc without giving any indication of his decision to join hands with the BJP. He declared that the people of Bihar will give a fitting response to Kumar and his close association with the prime minister. Ramesh also accused Kumar of staging a political drama to divert attention from the Congress? Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra.
