Navigating Peace in the Red Sea: Modi?
Delhi, 27 January (H.S): During a meeting between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and French President Emmanuel Macron, the two leaders expressed serious concerns about the potential expansion of conflict in the Middle East, particularly in the Red Sea. They emphasized the importance of upholding freedom of navigation and respecting international law in the region.
The leaders discussed coordinating efforts to address this issue and also condemned the recent terrorist attack on Israel. They called for a political solution leading to a two-state solution for lasting peace and stability in the region.
Additionally, they expressed deep concern over the ongoing war in Ukraine and its impact on civilians. The leaders called for an immediate and unconditional release of all hostages and stressed the need to respect international humanitarian law. The joint statement issued after their meeting highlighted their commitment to addressing these pressing issues and working towards a peaceful resolution.
The French President was the chief guest at India’s Republic Day celebrations, showcasing the strong bilateral relationship between the two countries.
