Jammu, 15 December (H.S): Former Minister and senior NC leader Ajay Sadhotra today urged the National Conference Students union (NCSU) to play its vital role in eradicating drug menace, spreading in the society.
While addressing a meeting of NCSU activists, organized by Harsh Vardhan Singh, president of the NCSU, at party office here today Sadhotra- additional general secretary of the J&K National Conference, criticized the present Government for its failure to tackle the rising drug menace in Jammu and Kashmir. He said the Government has failed to take effective measures to control the supply of drugs and provide rehabilitation services to addicts.
Sadhotra emphasized the role of students in building a better future for Jammu and Kashmir. He urged them to come forward and play a vital role in eradicating the drug menace. He said that the NCSU will work closely with the party leadership to address this critical issue.
Harsh Vardhan Singh apprised the senior functionaries of the party about the rising drug menace in the Jammu region. He expressed concern about the easy availability of drugs and the devastating impact it is having on students.
Assuring the senior functionary of the Party, Harsh Vardhan pledged that the NCSU will fully support and implement the initiatives outlined by the ?War Against Drug Addiction? (WADA) committee, established by Party?s vice president Omar Abdullah. He said NCSU will work alongside the WADA committee and other stakeholders to combat this critical issue.
