Hooghly, December 10 (HS): Hundreds of Sanatanis recited holy Gita in Serampore’s Mahesh Jagannath Temple in Hooghly district of West Bengal on Sunday. The programme, organised by Jagannath Temple Trust under the leadership of Maharaja Brahmachari Nirgunanand Saraswati of Rishra Prem Mandir, started at 11 am and continued till 12:30pm.
Sarad Gautam, a close aide to Rishra Prem Mandir told Hindusthan Samachar that the Sanatanis present during the programme were called upon to be present in large numbers in the mass Gita recitation to be organized at the Brigade Ground in Kolkata on December 24.
”Srimat Nirgunananda Brahmachari, secretary, Prem Mandir Ashram, Rishra, Yamuna Giri, Tarananda Brahmachari, Keshavananda Tirtha, Jaidevananda Tirthanath, Tanmayananda Brahmachari, Jagadartiha Prabhu, Ambikananda Maharaj, Sri Supratim Chakraborty and many others were present in the programme,” he added
Notably, more than one lakh Sanatanis are expected to recite holy Gita collectively at Brigade Ground in on December 24. PM Modi is also supposed to participate in this programme. Preparations for the programme are in full swing in the entire state.
