Cyclone Michaung updates: Devastation in TN & AP; Rajnath Singh to visit today!

Delhi, 7 December (HS): Cyclone Michaung, which struck the coastal areas of Tamil Nadu and Andhra Pradesh two days ago, has left a trail of destruction in its wake. The ongoing heavy rainfall, flooding, and power outages have severely affected the lives of the people in Chennai.

In response to this, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh will be visiting Tamil Nadu to assess the situation and hold a meeting with Chief Minister MK Stalin on Thursday.

Despite weakening into a low-pressure area, the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has warned that isolated places in Chhattisgarh, Odisha, and North Andhra Pradesh may experience heavy rainfall for the next 10-12 hours. On the other hand, South Andhra Pradesh and Tamil Nadu are not expected to receive any further rain due to the cyclone.

However, many districts in these states are still struggling to cope with the aftermath of Cyclone Michaung. As the situation continues to unfold, people are advised to stay vigilant and take necessary precautions.
