Tokyo, 05 Dec (HS): Japan has succeeded in discovering the wreckage of a US Air Force CV-22 Osprey that crashed in Japan on November 29. Bodies of three of the eight crew members were also recovered.
The divers in the vicinity of Yakushima island found remains during a combined search and rescue operation by the US and Japan on December 4. The identities of the bodies were not established, AFCOS said.
The AFSOC said the remains of one airman aboard, Staff Sgt Jacob M Galliher of Pittsfield, Massachusetts were recovered last week. The remains of five others aboard were found. Two of the five crew members have been recovered.
