New Delhi, 06 April (HS): India won the UN Statistics Commission elections. India secured 46 out of 53 votes, ahead of South Korea (23), China (19), and the UAE (15).
Foreign Minister S Jaishankar has expressed happiness over India?s victory in a tough contest.
This was a multi-cornered victory for two seats. China and South Korea are in the contest for the second seat. India will be on the UN Stats Commission for a term of four years.
