Prime Minister inaugurates new metro line in Bengaluru, travels with employees, workers

Bengaluru / New Delhi, March 25 (HS): Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday inaugurated the 13.71 km long Whitefield (Kadugodi) Metro to Krishnarajapura Metro line of the Reach-1 extension project under the Bengaluru Metro Phase-II at Whitefield (Kadugodi) Metro station. He also took a ride on the newly-inaugurated Metro and during the course interacted with various people including Metro employees and workers.

On reaching Whitefield (Kadugodi) Metro Station, the Prime Minister first bought a ticket from the ticket counter and then visited the exhibition put up on the occasion. The Prime Minister then unveiled a plaque to mark the opening of the White Field Metro Line and proceeded to the station to board the Metro. During his visit, he interacted with the staff and employees of Bengaluru Metro.

The Prime Minister was accompanied by Karnataka Governor Thaawar Chand Gehlot and Karnataka Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai.

Built at a cost of around Rs 4250 crore, this metro line will provide a clean, safe, fast and comfortable travel facility to the commuters in Bengaluru. This will further ease movement and reduce traffic congestion in the city.
