Located in the upper abdomen and is associated with the colour yellow. It represents our self-esteem, confidence, and personal power.

The symbol of the Solar plexus chakra:

The symbol of the solar plexus chakra (Manipura) is a yellow lotus flower with ten petals. In the center of the lotus is a downward-pointing triangle, which represents the fire element and the transformative power of this chakra. The triangle is surrounded by a circle, which represents the element of water and the fluidity and emotional nature of the solar plexus chakra. At the centre of the triangle is the beej mantra “ram,” which is the seed sound associated with this chakra. The symbol as a whole represents personal power, transformation, and the integration of emotions and willpower.

You can balance this chakra by practicing self-empowerment exercises, such as setting and achieving goals, or doing yoga poses that strengthen the core muscles.

Yoga poses to activate the Solar plexus Chakra:

The Solar Plexus Chakra, also known as the Manipura Chakra, is associated with personal power, confidence, and self-esteem. 

Boat Pose (Navasana): Sit on the floor with your legs extended in front of you. Lift your legs off the floor while keeping your back straight and balanced on your sitting bones. Extend your arms forward with your palms facing down. Hold the pose for a few breaths, then release.

Bow Pose (Dhanurasana): Lie on your stomach with your arms at your sides. Bend your knees and reach back to grab your ankles. Inhale and lift your chest, thighs, and feet off the floor while keeping your gaze forward. Hold the pose for a few breaths, then release.

Cobra Pose (Bhujangasana): Lie on your stomach with your hands under your shoulders. Inhale and lift your chest off the floor, keeping your elbows close to your body. Hold the pose for a few breaths, then release.

Bridge Pose (Setu Bandhasana): Lie on your back with your knees bent and feet flat on the floor. Place your arms at your sides, palms down. Inhale and lift your hips up toward the ceiling, pressing your feet and arms into the floor. Hold the pose for a few breaths, then release.
