Maharashtra: Big Boss winner and Stand-Up Comedian Munawar Faruqui issued an apology for a controversial joke he made about Konkanis during a recent comedy show in Taloja, Maharashtra. He happened to comment that, “Konkani Log Chu**** Banate Hai”, during the flow of his act, which later went viral and stirred up a controversy. BJP leader Nitesh Rane uploaded his video on social media platform X addressing him as Green Snake (Hirwa Saap) and threatened to visit his home and send him to Pakistan.
Left with no option this comedian had to upload his apology and mentioned that this comment was unintentional and still extends his apology. He expressed regret for any hurt caused and emphasised that his goal as a comedian is not to hurt people. Faruqui’s apology came amid escalating controversy and growing political attention.
