In a grand ceremony at Bharat Mandapam in Delhi, Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated Bharat Tex 2024, a landmark event dedicated to the celebration and promotion of India’s extensive textile heritage. The event underscores the nation’s commitment to enhancing collaboration within the textile industry and acknowledging the sector’s pivotal role in economic growth.

During the inauguration, Union Minister Piyush Goyal highlighted the urgency of developing further infrastructure to support the booming demand in the textile sector. He proposed the launch of a second phase for Bharat Mandapam and YashoBhoomi, aiming to bolster the industry’s infrastructure. Prime Minister Modi, in his address, assured continuous government support for the numerous cotton farmers across the country and announced the launch of Kasturi Cotton, an initiative to strengthen India’s unique identity in the global textile arena.

Bharat Tex 2024 stands as a vibrant showcase of India’s iconic handloom and handicraft traditions, featuring an array of state pavilions from Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra (as Partner States), and Gujarat, Telangana, and Madhya Pradesh (as Supporting Partner States). The event also displays the diverse textile cultures of Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, and Assam, making it a global platform for India’s textile heritage. Bharat Tex 2024 celebrates the rich tapestry of Indian textiles and its significant mark on the world stage.
