Lucknow, 31 March (HS): On April 6, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) will start a week-long push called ‘Gaon Gaon Chalo, Ghar Ghar Chalo’ to reach out to Other Backward Class (OBC) voters. This is an attempt to reach out to OBCs ahead of the state’s urban municipal elections and the Lok Sabha elections in 2024. According to Narendra Kashyap, the party’s state president of the Backward Classes Morcha, “The campaign will begin on April 6, the party’s founding day, and end on April 14, the birth anniversary of Dr Bhimrao Ambedkar. Party leaders and workers will go door to door in the villages to connect with the people.”
BJP President JP Nadda and OBC Morcha President K. Laxman would kick off the campaign in Haryana’s Manesar district, other ministers and senior party officials are anticipated to do the same in six locations throughout Uttar Pradesh, he added. During the ‘Gaon Gaon Chalo, Ghar Ghar Chalo’ campaign, BJP OBC Morcha office bearers and activists would visit 15,000 villages, 741 nagar palika parishads and nagar panchayats, and 17 municipal corporations. During the outreach campaign, the party officials will contact members of the backward and severely backward classes.
“When parties like the SP, BSP, and Congress were in power, their governments and leaders defrauded the poor,” he claimed. ?While they were in power, the opposition parties exploited the poor, and now that they are out, these politicians claim to be their supporters. The masses have recognised the SP, BSP, and Congress’ casteist and communal appeasement tactics. The underprivileged and highly underprivileged communities are aware that Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath are striving for the welfare and development of all.”
